Welcome to the Albion Magic Club and Restaurant
In addition to live stand up comedy every Friday and Saturday, Albion is the first and only club in Brisbane to feature a weekly live comedy show of magicians, illusionists and mind readers. In a short time, the show has grown to be hugely popular.
Here are some of the performers we feature in our magic shows every Thursday.
TONY LAFFAN
International Magician Tony Laffan is part of the most secretive profession in the world and one of Australia's most respected magical performers having been voted Six times 'Sight Act of the Year', Twice 'Entertainer of the Year'.
Tony Laffan is a ‘Multi Award Winning Magician’ having performed throughout the world over the past 20 Years, working for the biggest names in the Corporate World, Casinos, Cruise Ships and Celebrities.
MIKE VAN ACKER (Host)
Mike's career to date has been one of contrasts and has included performances in Comedy Clubs, Theatre Restaurant, and film, television and radio. Mike has a strong grounding in theatre sports, street performing, magic, music, acting, corporate compering and writing, and is therefore able to tailor his material appropriately to suit his audience. It is this versatility that has led to Mike being chosen for such diverse gigs as Audience warm up comedian for Channel 7's 'Family Feud', Corporate Impersonator for clients including ICI, PWC, Coca-Cola and Telstra, Guest Artist for The Lord Mayor's Seniors Christmas party in Brisbane's City Hall, and the M.C. for the opening of Dreamworld's "Giant Drop'.
Mike was named the "Clubs Qld Comedy Performer of the Year", in recognition of his work in the clubs supporting Phil Cass, Elliot Goblet, Austen Tayshus, The Delltones, The Supremes, Rita Coolidge etc. Mike is also a regular on-air guest on Radio Sea FM Sunshine Coast's 'Morning Crew'
JAY JAY
Although Brisbane based, over the last five years, Jay Jay has travelled extensively around Australia and has performed his unique and sexy brand of magic to thousands, leaving them breathless and in awe of his amazing talent.
Mixing his stylish and cool persona with magic, audiences gasp in amazement and laugh at his humour, approachability and antics. He also writes all his own bios.
Early in 2009, Jay Jay recognized the power of social media as a viable marketing channel, and started the YouTube channel FreeMagicLive. By uploading weekly entertaining clips that teach people at home simple tricks to wow their friends, amaze work colleagues and get the girl of their dreams in the process, the Jay Jay brand has been exposed to close to a million people from all corners of the globe. To date, more than 10,000 people each week regularly tune in to his YouTube channel.

GLEN RHODES
Glens’ performances are clean, original, hilarious and mind-blowing.

PETER BOOTH
Pete developed an interest in magic at the age of five, courtesy of Expo 88, Brisbane's international festival showcasing performers from all over the globe. After many books, magic sets and lonely nights, he had an act.
For the past four years Pete has been performing for comedy clubs, corporate shows and private parties. He specializes in interactive comedy magic, involving stand-up comedy, audience participation and magic.
Pete is a writer for Skeptic magazine where he covers issues of the paranormal. These pieces have recently found their way to the stage in his show, The Barnum Effect, covering secrets of psychics and Victorian Seances.

STEPHANIE LEE-HARPER
Queensland's leading lady magician. This warming Brisbane magician has a bubbly personality and cheeky quick wit which magically involves your guests and clients in a show that they will not forget.
Before emigrating to Brisbane, Australia in February 2009 Stephanie was consistently recognized as one of England's top lady comedy stage magicians.
Stephanie Lee-Harper, takes on the role of "Emma Wits", a rather naive air hostess that just doesn't know when she goes too far. This comedy stage magic show, in a word, is "cheeky."
